Dubai: New AI-powered advance cargo information system launched at GITEX Global 2025
This smart technology ensures faster decision-making at air and sea ports
DUBAI – Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, today attended the launch of the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system by Dubai Customs during GITEX Global 2025.
The AI-powered system marks a breakthrough in customs operations by streamlining risk analysis, detecting prohibited goods, and reducing physical inspections through intelligent data processing.
Sheikh Mansoor directed Dubai Customs to continue enhancing integrated risk systems across entry points using artificial intelligence, blockchain, and machine learning. The initiative aligns with the Dubai Government’s vision for a future-ready, secure, and efficient customs ecosystem that supports global trade growth.
What does ACI do?
The ACI system allows shipment information to be received before goods depart their country of origin, significantly improving preventive measures and speeding up customs clearance. It uses data from cargo manifests and customs declarations at airports and seaports to perform rapid and precise risk analysis.
How is it powered?
Combining artificial intelligence with blockchain, the platform ensures data authenticity and operational integrity while consolidating several legacy risk analysis systems into one unified network. Machine learning capabilities enable the system to continuously refine itself, enhancing both speed and reliability.
The event was attended by Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Dr Abdulla Mohammed Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs.
Using Genetic AI, the platform autonomously executes real-time decision-making, sending immediate alerts and insights to relevant authorities for rapid response.
